Wanna Go to the CF Running Cert, On Us?

That's right, peeps. We're sending one lucky winner to the sold-out CrossFit Running and Endurance Certification, at GSX on 6/27 & 6/28, on us.

Wanna go?

Send us an email to miked@gsxathletics.com , before 5pm this Thursday, and tell us why it should be you. Are you training for a specific event, or dialing that 'Helen' time down? Let us know, and the winner will be announced Friday the 19th.

Oooh, that hurts. Would love to try for a chance at the cert. Unfortunately we're having Rachel's b'day party at NRH2o that Saturday. Cool offer GSX.

Ah man, I would love to do the Cert but my wife is working in Austin this summer and that is one of the weekends I am going to go and see her. I will give you my story anyway.

So I am registered for the Heartland 50 mile trail run up in Kansas on Oct 10. I will probably go for the 100 mile run if I can make it up there, but it is the busy time at work so I don't know if I will be able to make the trip this year. I am registered hoping I can. http://www.ksultrarunners.org/

The backup plan is to do the Bandera Trail 100km run January 9 down in the hill country. I did the 50km as a pacer last year and let me tell you it was nuts. You are basically having to traverse steep mountains with rocks sliding out from under you the whole time while at the same time avoiding all of the cactuses out on the course. It takes a whole lot of fortitude and training to make it through this course while still maintaining a decent pace.

To be honest I have never been a fast runner. That is probably due in large part to the fact that I really don't prescribe to a plan. I just go out and run because it feels good, sometimes long distances and other times short. I am betting after I make it to a crossfit running cert and add more structure to my training my results will explode.

JBalls!!! That is so awesome. I have another hero now. I can't imagine that kind of mileage.

I've done one marathon and I don't even like to remember it. I'm all about the half, 10k, 5k please.

I don't wanna miss any Sat's of drag racing of course so I can't apply either. But if they could make me faster...it'd be solid proof. My running friends call me Slow Mo if that splains it clear enough. I do like it tho. Sometimes when a run feels good, no Ipod, my biggem butt clunkin' along watching da birds and stuffs...it don't get much bettah.
