transitioning in and out of the rower is key on this one.

Griff,
You should crush this one. I completed it about 2 minutes faster than the last time I did it. Love those PR's! Get some!

Cowtown Report: Having NOT trained at ALL for distance running and ONLY doing Crossfit workouts, I shaved 5 minutes off my 5k time of a year ago (the last time I ran one). I hit a sub 30 time and ranked 45th out of 240 in my division. The proof of excellent training programs are in the results.

At the start of the run, someone asked if Alaina and I run together. We answered "no" and I said that she was faster than me but sometimes, if I can keep her in my sights, I would take her out at the end just for the bragging rights.

I felt really strong the entire length of the run. I didn't have the cramping from breathing heavy that I normally do and once the knee warmed up, it was all good. Alaina left me in the dust at the beginning and I didn't see her the entire run. As I rounded the last turn I was ready to sprint it out (as I normally do). This was more to do with the fact that I can see the finish and my desire to run left about a mile back.

I kicked in to a nice sprint in the turn and looked up to see the love of my life just a few yards ahead. I rocketed past her with encouraging comments and surprised her. Running as hard as I could to the finish, I almost gassed out a block from the line but managed to keep going. Good thing that I kept it up, Alaina was a mere 8 seconds behind me running her first sub 30 minute time at the Cowtown. I might have the bragging rights this year but you have a new PR! Congratulations Sweetie!

Jason and Alaina, congrats. Crossfit works by increasing work capacities along broad time and modal domains, or something like that. In other words, you can get better at something like running without actually doing a lot of running. Gotta' love it. Ali, my time this morning was 10:59. Look for your husband to go sub 9.

Peace Out,
Steve

Sweet run Parker. Congrats on your kick ass finish. I think this is my first "Christine". I thought I might have a chance of coming in around 10 minutes. HA! Not even close. Did it is 12:33. So, if I had a sister, this would be like kissing her. Since I don't have a sister, I guess I am vaugely satisfied for now.

Congrats you two! I would have loved to see that.

First time taking on "Christine" and probably liked her more than most. *9:25 Rx'd (at 135lbs)

I ran the 10k this weekend. The only run training I did was I ran 3 miles a month ago and I have been doing about 1 to 3 WODs a week. I reached my goal of sub 60 min and came in at 59:32. I am really feeling it though. Strained my achilles and I am having some foot trouble, nothing serious. Probably should work up to those distances just to get your different body parts used to the pounding.

Way to go on Cowtown guys. If there weren't 20,000 people I might have seen more of you out there on the course.

Great times today! Saw the board this afternoon and watched the 4:30 class. Very cool. Candice, can I have your autograph? Hoot hoot to Raif too!!

Just think what your time next year could be. I'm picturing Parker in his lumberjack hat with the flaps blowing by some very confused Kenyans.

Scorcho, did you win it all and then just keep running for like 8 more hours blowing right by the officials and the trophy girl?

Speaking of kissing your sister, my Chritine time was 9 minutes flat. Of course I'm happy with a 45 second pr but it still stinks to be 1 second away from "sub" anything.

RX'd at 185#...12:39. Jerod blew it up with a sub 10:00.

Steve I was looking forward to completing Christine and going for a PR. I would really like to do this WOD, it has beaten me down twice. I will be in the 0830 class tomorrow maybe I will squeeze it in. Congratulations on your time that is plenty of hard work.

Good job to everybody undertaking this workout.

No trophies here, but I did reward myself by stopping off at the donut shop about mile 19. I was desperately hungry again about mile 29 but close enough to the end by that point.

The donut lady even threw in some free donut holes because apparently I was the only runner who stopped by to visit. Some people just don't know what they are missing.
