Actually been watching a lot of Spongebob and iCarly but did get to watch the Drake and Josh Xmas special recently and they're almost adults so I got that going for me. But seriously would like to see Quantam of Solace. Is it babysitter worthy?
Raif I am with ya, I get my fair share of Spongebob, iCarly and Drake and Josh. The ones that I watch to get a good laugh are either Coming to America or Trading Places. I know, they are a bit older, still damn funny though!
Most recent trips to the movies were Bolt and Four Christmases. Bolt was cute - me and my Dad rented err borrowed a couple of kids to take to this one. Four Xmas drug on a bit but was dang funny.
I'm reading Revolutionary Road right now sos I can go see that one when it comes out.
If any of you like to read I really enjoyed Twelve Mighty Orphans, Jim Dent. It is a true story about the Fort Worth Masonic Home football team in the 1930's. Very cool underdog story.
Yep I am a book lover with limitations. I am uhhh not the brightest bulb so I stay away from any heavy stuff or the so called wonderful classics that I have never been able to muddle through.
It is tough to pick a fav but A Prayer for Owen Meany, John Irving...always comes to mind when I try to pick my fav. Or Into Thin Air, Jon Krakauer or or or :)
The bookstore is probably the only place where I actually love to shop - well and sometimes Lowe's.
Raif, Quantum of Solace was pretty good, I thought. Ken and I watched Casino Royale the night before so it made a lot more sense.
One of my favs is The Royal Tanenbaums. Greatness!!
Mo, Don't you think movies can never compare to the book? I'd rather see the movie first, then read the book. I'm always disappointed with the movie if I've already read the book.
Definitely a book nerd. I am about a sharp as a bowling ball so I try to read the classics along with other stuff. I dont go to book stores for the fear of spending too much. Right now I am reading "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel. Just finished "Fast food nation" and "Lone survivor". All great!
Ava - I have to read the book first for some reason. You are right tho - the movie never compares. I don't think there is any possible way for them to capture it all in a movie. Hannibal is the only one that comes to mind that I liked the movie as much as the book.
Jason - I loved Life Of Pi but I haven't read the other two. I have really attempted the classics but ugh! I gave up. I'd rather be stabbed repeatedly with a plastic spork than try to read The Grapes of Wrath again. I go to Half Priced Books a lot with my pile to "sell" ha! I get $4 and spend $40 of course. Sams and Target have great book prices if they have what ya want of course.
Hey, getting $4 and spending $40 works out math wise...I think...doesnt it?! Anyone read "Into the wild"? I saw the movie and enjoyed it and would like to read it, just dont know how it is.
Jason- I have Into the Wild if you want me to bring it to GSX fo you to borrow. It's way better than the movie. Which also means you MUST read Into Thin Air - same author and Air wayyy better than Wild. HA! :)
I have read a lot of the those you all are talking about!!! Into Thin Air was great......Into the Wild was good too...as a mother, found it hard to read!! Muddled through Life of Pi, but ened up enjoying it.....Glass Castles frustrated me. If any of you like architecutre, you MUST read Loving Frank. It was GREAT and is $11 at Target right now. I would share, but have it out on loan. Another oldie but goodie was Lance Armstrong's "It's Not About the Bike." Glad to know we can now discuss something other than pull ups and lunges!!! See you all on Friday night!!
-Things They Carried, Tim O'Brien -Any Jack Kerouac -Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Robert M Pirsig -The Brother Karamazov, much better than Crime and Punishment.

Mo, are you a fellow book nerd?
The Last Samari, The Cowboys (with John Wayne), and Planes Trains and Automobiles are some of our favorites.
Lisa and I saw Fireproof a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty good.
