For those of you who don’t know – that man on the ladder who has been hosting and cutting pipe and welding these past few weeks is my mentor, my friend, and my father. Jack R. Tucker has shown me more about life, living, and working than any other man that I know. His quiet demeanor and warm smile speaks to his constant purpose to give and serve. Not to mention that his work ethic starts at damn near dawn and stops at dark, sometimes beyond dark thirty! I am sure better for having known him and learned from him - I am not sure I can repay the debt that I owe to him for having been patient enough to teach me life’s lessons.
When I told him I wanted to go out back of GSX and add some fencing, chin up bars, monkey bars, a covered pavilion and CF equipment he jumped at it, damn near demanded it happen right away so he could get at burning that welding rod! He told me one day after we surveyed a full day’s work, “well this one, and one more, will make two of these things that I have built” I am so proud that he wanted to work at making our indoor/outdoor pavilion CrossFit training area – and Papa Jack has sure as hell put his mark on GSX and our CrossFit community.
What he is building will change lives, add excitement, and make a difference in our CF FT Worth community and make GSX all that much better. What he is fashioning is a memory for me and one that I will cherish for years to come.
Many of you c-fers have stopped out back and asked questions and given praise and thanks to Jack, I appreciate it very much – as does he. Come out back and offer this man your thanks, offer him a cup of coffee (he takes it black) and let him know you appreciate his work…
We got a bit more to go and then we will have the paint party, the cover ordered, and the equipment delivered – THEN at our command, we are gonna unleash HELL!
